In what I believe to be a smart and practical move, Securus Technologies issued a press release in which it reveals that it has launched a campaign to investigate and make public the wrongdoings of Global Tel Link (GTL). According to prnewswire.com, the press release contained information about how Securus Technologies plans on providing reports about the wrongdoing and the integrity breaches of GTL. These reports will be available to both customers of Securus and to the public at large. Securus Technologies wants to reassure customers that it has their needs at the forefront of all that it does. Securus has an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, which can be found at http://www.bbb.org/dallas/business-reviews/government-contractors/securus-technologies-in-dallas-tx-41000098 and it does not want its reputation tarnished by any involvement with GTL. In addition, Securus Technologies has a large client base, and it wants to reassure those customers that they have nothing to be concerned about because of its affiliation with GTL.
I feel that Smith’s statement was that of someone who felt that GTL’s actions were unacceptable. Smith stressed that his company values more than just money. He said that Securus technologies keeps the customer’s best interest at heart, and he did so with sincerity. Furthermore, the press release included several accusations that have been leveled against GTL, and it took each accusation in turn to make a comment about how each practice was unacceptable and not in keeping with the values of Securus Technologies.
