L’Oreal is one of the leaders of beauty products around the world and as their Global Brand President, Dan Bethelmy-Rada has been hard at work on some significant projects for the brand. He is only around 40 years old and has already worked for L’Oreal Paris and the brands of Garnier for more than a decade and a half. He is seen as an innovator with impressive skills in brand managing. Not only is he managing the brand with digital strategy and marketing, but he is also working to diversify the brand on every level of the company.
Throughout his childhood, Dan Bethelmy-Rada traveled the globe as his parents had to move around internationally. The native of Venezuela moved to Paris at 16 after living in the United States with his parents. As he moved to different places around the world, he realized that there were many different ways that people defined beauty. This idea fascinated him and he began to take an interest in photography in order to start documenting the differences in what is considered beautiful around the world. He tries to find beauty in everything that he looks at and finds beauty in things that many people would have never noticed.
With all of the different responsibilities that Dan Bethelmy-Rada has, he never has a typical work week. Things are always changing and there is always a new project to work on for the brand. There are some days that he is working directly with his team while during other days he is discussing things with clients in meetings or over dinner. Some of his favorites days with business are the ones in which deals and projects are finalized.
Bethelmy-Rada is excited about the big role that social media is playing when it comes to marketing in general. Despite the relative newness of the platforms, it has already shown a lot of potentials and is expected to grow even more in the following years as technology is improved and the power of social media is more understood when it comes to marketing.
